Chelsea might be trying to make friends on their pre-season tour of Asia – but winger Eden Hazard has broken the heart of one young fan after bluntly rejecting her marriage proposal on his Instagram account.
The Belgian winger, who is beginning his second season with the Blues after joining from Lille, has quickly developed into a firm fan favourite.
And one supporter in Bangkok loves Hazard so much she attended Chelsea’s match against Singah All-Stars with the hope of convincing the star to marry her.
The fan clearly spent some time thinking up how to get Hazard’s attention, and eventually opted for a strong banner featuring good colour choices and a love heart.
The opportunity to get Hazard’s hand in marriage whilst he was in the country was clearly too good an opportunity to miss.
But, although the banner succeeded in one part as she got herself noticed, he then posted the snap on Instragam and told the girl he had no interest.
‘Sorry I’m married,’ he simply wrote.
His followers were clearly not impressed with the firm response, with plenty asking him to reconsider the offer.
